Tonto Basin Fire District is Hiring

Rural fire departments rely on full-time, part-time, and volunteers. Our district is no exception. We cover 45 square miles within our district boundaries and over 80 square miles from Highway 87 south to Roosevelt along with areas in the Tonto National Forest. The majority of the staff of Tonto Basin Fire District are part-time.

We are currently accepting applications for:

  • Part-Time Administrative Assistant
  • Full-Time Firefighter/EMT or Paramedic
  • Part-Time Firefighter/EMT or Paramedic
  • Part-Time EMT or Paramedic

Requirements for all Firefighters and EMS applicants:

  • 18 years of age
  • Valid AZ Driver’s License
  • Required certifications to fulfill the desired position
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Background Check/Fingerprinting
  • Drug Test

Requirements for administrative assistant applicants:

  • 18 years of age
  • Valid AZ Driver’s License
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Background Check
  • Drug Test

The district will assist with training in CPR, First Aid, Emergency Driving, EMT refresher, and Fire Fighting skills for those employees who hold fire or EMS certifications. If you have any questions, please contact Fire Chief James Stoltenberg at 928-479-2203 or email.
